Troubleshoot Visual Issues and Artifacts
Identify Common Issues
If you notice flickering shadows, banding in the sky, or water that looks strange:
- Shadow Flickering: This often occurs when shadow quality is set too high for your GPU. Lower the shadow setting incrementally.
- Color Banding: Visible color bands in gradients or water suggest your graphics card needs a driver update, or the shader's color depth setting needs adjustment.
- Water Glitches: If water appears overly bright or dark, check that reflection settings match your current performance tier.
Reset and Reconfigure
If issues persist, reset Noxara Shaders to default settings through the Shader Options menu, then gradually re-enable features one at a time. This helps isolate which setting causes problems on your specific hardware.
Verify Your Setup
Ensure your graphics drivers are current—shader packs rely heavily on GPU capabilities. If problems only occur in specific biomes or near certain blocks, it may be a mod compatibility issue rather than a shader problem. Test in a fresh world with only Noxara Shaders active to confirm.
