Make Water Look More Realistic and Reflective
Access Water-Specific Settings
Nolantic includes dedicated water rendering options. Open the shader configuration menu and locate water surface or reflection controls.
Enable Reflections and Refraction
If available, toggle on water reflection and refraction effects. These make water surfaces respond realistically to sky color and terrain, creating depth and visual interest. Adjust reflection intensity to control how much of the sky and surroundings appear on the water surface.
Adjust Wave and Surface Detail
Look for wave amplitude or surface normal settings. Increasing these makes water appear more dynamic and textured. Decrease them if you prefer calmer, smoother water surfaces.
Modify Water Color and Transparency
Nolantic allows biome-specific water coloring. Adjust transparency and tint values so water in different biomes—oceans, rivers, swamps—displays appropriate colors. Deeper water should appear darker; shallow water clearer.
Test in Various Lighting
View your water changes during different times of day. Morning and sunset light should create warm reflections, while midday produces bright, clear water. Night water should appear dark and mysterious.
