Prevent griefing by hiding player locations from raiders
Protecting your base from location tracking
In survival multiplayer, hostile players often spot bases by following name tags through terrain. This data pack eliminates that advantage, making raids harder to coordinate.
How this helps
Without visible name tags, raiders cannot:
- Track your position through mountains or caves
- Spot you building or mining from a distance
- Follow you home after combat
- Coordinate attacks by watching multiple players move
Combine with other defenses
Use the hidden name tags as one layer of protection alongside:
- Building bases far from spawn
- Using natural terrain for camouflage
- Keeping valuable resources in hidden rooms
- Establishing trusted player teams if you want allies to find you
Enabling visibility for allies only
If you trust certain players, add them to a team with nametagVisibility always so you can locate each other during raids or emergencies. Keep hostile or unknown players outside this team to maintain security.
