Using Ancient Wood Planks for Rustic Builds

The Ancient Wood Set

Ancient Wood Planks is the base building block. The matching pieces are Ancient Wood Stairs, Ancient Wood Plank Slab, Ancient Wood Planks Fence and Ancient Wood Planks Fence Gate. Ancient Cobblestone, Ancient Cobblestone Slab and Ancient Cobblestone Stairs give you a stone counterpart in the same weathered style. Ancient Lamp finishes the set as a light source.

Building with the Set

Start with a frame of Ancient Wood Planks for walls and use Ancient Wood Stairs at roof edges and around openings so the silhouette is not a flat rectangle. Run Ancient Wood Planks Fence along a garden or balcony edge and fit Ancient Wood Planks Fence Gate at the entry point so the fence line can be opened. Use Ancient Wood Plank Slab for half-height trim, window ledges and path edging. For foundations, paths and low walls, switch to Ancient Cobblestone, and use Ancient Cobblestone Slab and Ancient Cobblestone Stairs to soften the top of those walls. Hang Ancient Lamp at intervals along the outside so the wood and stone read clearly at night. Because stairs, slabs and fences are shape variants, cut or craft them from the planks you already have rather than gathering separate materials.
