Get Realistic Surface Details with PBR
Understanding PBR in NEXA LowShader
PBR (Physically Based Rendering) adds depth and realism to block surfaces without requiring texture pack changes. When enabled, materials respond more naturally to light—metal looks reflective, stone looks rough, and wood shows grain-like variation.
How to See PBR Effects
PBR works best when:
- Using compatible resource packs: Packs designed with PBR support will show enhanced detail. Vanilla textures still work but show subtle improvements.
- In varied lighting: Build in areas with both shadow and sunlight. Watch how surfaces catch light differently depending on their material properties.
- On different block types: Compare how stone, metal blocks, wood, and glass respond to the same lighting—PBR makes these differences visible.
Enabling PBR
Check your shader settings for a PBR toggle or quality level. Enable it if your hardware allows; the performance cost is minimal on NEXA LowShader since it's optimized for low-end systems. The effect is most noticeable on custom-textured blocks and ore blocks.
