How to Make Soul Compost and Grow Nether Crops

Craft Soul Compost

Soul Compost is the farming block for this mod. Craft it from soul-related Nether materials, then place it where you want to grow crops. It functions as the soil substitute for Nether farming, letting you cultivate plants that would not grow on ordinary Nether ground.

Plant and harvest

Place Soul Compost in a row or patch near your base. Plant your Nether seeds or crops directly on top. Use a Golden Machete, Iron Machete or Diamond Machete to harvest mature plants quickly.

Light the area with Propelplant Torches

Propelplant Torch is the light source tied to this farming setup. Place Propelplant Torches around your Soul Compost patch so the crops have light and the area is safe to work in. They fit the Nether aesthetic and keep your farm visible at night.

Feed the kitchen

Soul Compost crops feed directly into your cooking stations. Harvest them, then take the produce to the Blackstone Stove for recipes like Strider Moss Stew and Magma Gelatin. Keep a chest of harvested crops next to the stove so cooking never stalls waiting for ingredients.
