Using Boomstone and Ash Block in Builds

Boomstone

Boomstone is a NetherEx block with explosive behavior. Place it where you want a triggered blast, such as a trap corridor or a demolition setup. Treat it like other explosive blocks: keep it away from your storage and from builds you want to keep, and detonate it deliberately rather than by accident.

Because it is a placed block, you can hide it behind a wall or under a floor and trigger it from a distance. Plan the blast radius before you place the first one so you do not chain-detonate a row you meant to keep.

Ash Block

Ash Block is a decorative and terrain block. Use it to build ashen ground, dunes, and slopes in Nether-themed areas. It pairs naturally with Ashen Nether Bricks and the other Ashen variants, so a single palette covers both terrain and structures.

Stack Ash Block in layers to shape hills, then cap them with Ashen Nether Brick Slab for paths. Use Ash Block as filler behind Ashen Nether Brick Walls so the wall reads as part of the landscape.

Combining the Two

Bury Boomstone inside an Ash Block mound to make a hidden charge. The Ash Block hides the Boomstone from view, and the surrounding terrain absorbs the visual impact of the blast. Rebuild the mound with fresh Ash Block afterward to reset the trap.
