Building the Cinder Chain

Cinder Grain is the entry item of the cinder progression. Obtain Cinder Grain first, then use it in crafting recipes to produce the other cinder items. Cinder Grain can also be crafted into a Cinder Bale for compact storage or as an ingredient in further recipes.

From Grain to Sangak

Cinder Sangak is crafted using cinder materials. Treat Cinder Grain and Cinder Bale as the inputs you gather before attempting the Sangak recipe. Because the cinder items are linked by crafting recipes, work through them in order: gather Cinder Grain, convert some into a Cinder Bale, then craft Cinder Sangak from the cinder components you have accumulated.

Practical Tips

Keep separate stacks of Cinder Grain and Cinder Bale. Cinder Bale is a block form, so it stores more per slot, but recipes that call for loose Cinder Grain will not accept the bale directly. Craft bales only from grain you are not about to spend on Sangak.

If a recipe will not complete, check that you are using the exact item named in the recipe rather than its block form. The cinder chain is short, so a single mistake in which form you are holding is the most common reason a craft fails.
