How to Grow Bananas from a Banana Stalk

Planting the Stalk

Place a Banana Stalk on dirt or grass. It grows upward into a Beanstalk over time. The Beanstalk is climbable, so you can scale it like a ladder to reach the top. As the Beanstalk matures, Banana Fronds and Banana Bundles form along it.

Harvesting

Break Banana Bundles to obtain Bananas. A Banana Bundle placed as a block can also be harvested directly. Each Banana can be eaten or used in recipes. Banana Bunches give you multiple Bananas at once when broken.

Using the Harvest

Craft Banana Bread by combining Bananas with your usual bread ingredients. Bananas also go into Banana Cake, Banana Ice Cream, and Banana Milkshake. For a Banana Milkshake, process the ingredients into a Banana Milkshake Cauldron, then draw from it.

Beanstalk Care

Watch for Beanstalk Thorns as the stalk grows; they appear on the structure. A Carved Banana Stalk can be made by carving a Banana Stalk, useful for decoration. Chimpanzees spawn near banana plants and can be identified by the Chimpanzee Head drop and Chimpanzee Spawn Egg. Keep the base of the Beanstalk clear so it has room to extend upward.
