How to Grow Bananas and Harvest a Banana Bunch

Finding and Planting a Banana Stalk

Bananas come from a Banana Stalk, not a sapling. Place a Banana Stalk on dirt or grass and let it grow. As it matures it produces Banana Frond blocks and eventually a Banana Bunch. A Carved Banana Stalk is the decorative carved variant of the same block, useful for building once you have spare stalks.

Harvesting and Using Bananas

Break a mature Banana Bunch to obtain Banana items. A single Banana can be eaten directly, or combined into larger recipes. Banana Bundle is a compact storage block made from Bananas, and it can be broken back down when you need loose fruit.

• Banana Ice Cream and Banana Ice Cream Block
• Banana Milkshake and Banana Milkshake Cauldron

Beanstalk and Thorns

Growing a Banana Stalk can also produce a Beanstalk and Beanstalk Thorns. The Beanstalk is a climbable vertical block, while Beanstalk Thorns are the damaging variant. Use Beanstalk for vertical travel and keep Thorns away from paths you walk.

Chimpanzees

Chimpanzee Spawn Egg spawns a chimpanzee, and Chimpanzee Head is its head block. Bananas are the fruit tied to this mob, so keep a stack on hand if you plan to interact with them.
