Building an Automated Item Sorting Line

Core Blocks

An Adept Hopper moves items without needing a full vanilla hopper chain. Pair it with an Item Distributor to split incoming items across multiple outputs, and an Item Grounder to stop items from being pulled further down a line. Use Hopper Enhancement on an Adept Hopper to change how it behaves in the chain.

Routing and Filtering

Feed a chest into an Adept Hopper, then into an Item Distributor. The Distributor sends items to several destinations; place Item Grounders at the ends of lines you want to terminate. Use an Ender Crate as a remote destination when you want sorted output delivered elsewhere without running a physical line.

Stencils and Constructors

Use a Farming Stencil to define what an Automatic Constructor should place or process. The Automatic Constructor performs the defined action repeatedly, so combine it with your Hopper line to feed it inputs and pull outputs. An Imperceptible Builder places blocks without being seen, useful for hiding the working parts of the line.

Build Order

1. Chest → Adept Hopper.

2. Adept Hopper → Item Distributor.

3. Distributor → multiple Item Grounders or Ender Crate.

4. Add Hopper Enhancement where the flow needs adjusting.

5. Add Automatic Constructor + Farming Stencil for automated placement.

6. Cover with Imperceptible Builder if you want it hidden.
