Maintain Texture Detail in Dark Caves and Bright Daylight

Understand Contrast Preservation

NaturalVision is designed to keep block textures readable across all lighting conditions. Unlike shaders that crush shadows or blow out highlights, this shader balances exposure to maintain detail. The automatic eye adaptation ensures caves remain visible without looking flat, and daylit areas don't lose texture definition.

Verify Ambient Occlusion Settings

Check your shader options for ambient occlusion or shadow detail sliders. These enhance texture visibility in dark areas by adding subtle shading to crevices and corners. Ensure these aren't set to minimum, as they help preserve visual depth.

Test in Varied Environments

Walk through different biomes and lighting scenarios: deep caves, surface at noon, forests at dusk, and underwater areas. Textures should remain distinct and readable in all conditions. If certain areas feel too dark or washed out, adjust exposure slightly rather than drastically.

Avoid Conflicting Settings

If using other mods that affect lighting or visibility, ensure they don't override NaturalVision's balanced approach. Disable conflicting visual enhancements to maintain the shader's texture clarity.
