Using Ore-Bearing Pebbles in Progression

The Ore Pebbles

Six pebbles carry ore materials: Veridium Pebble, Asurine Pebble, Crimsite Pebble, Ochrum Pebble, Scorchia Pebble, and Scoria Pebble. These are distinct from the plain stone pebbles and are the ones you should never throw away.

Collecting Them

Ore-bearing pebbles appear on the ground like other pebbles. Pick up every one you pass. Because they are rarer than Stone Pebble or Deepslate Pebble, mark where you found them and sweep the same area again after exploring nearby caves, since new ones can appear.

Feeding Them Into Crafting

These pebbles are inputs for later recipes, so stockpile them in a dedicated chest rather than carrying them around. Keep them sorted by type, because recipes that call for Veridium Pebble will not accept Asurine Pebble. When you reach the metal and alloy stages of the mod, check your stockpile before mining fresh material; you may already have what you need.

Pairing With Cobbled Blocks

Ore pebbles and cobbled blocks are used together in mid-game crafting. While you gather ore pebbles, also mine Andesite, Diorite, Granite, and Tuff to build up Cobbled Andesite, Cobbled Diorite, Cobbled Granite, and Cobbled Tuff. Having both categories on hand keeps you from stalling when a recipe needs one of each.
