Butterfly Nest and Spawn Eggs

The Butterfly Nest is a placeable block tied to butterfly spawning. Butterfly Spawn Egg and Caterpillar Spawn Egg let you introduce the mobs directly. Use the spawn eggs when you want butterflies or caterpillars in a specific spot rather than waiting for natural spawning near a nest.

Chrysalis

Chrysalis is a block in the progression. Caterpillars develop through the Chrysalis stage before becoming butterflies.

Setting Up a Butterfly Area

Build an enclosure with Butterfly Nest blocks and room for caterpillars to move. Use Butterfly Spawn Egg to add adults directly if you want the area populated immediately.

Practical Notes

Keep the area enclosed so butterflies stay where you can see them. Place Butterfly Nest blocks where you want activity concentrated. If you are collecting butterflies for a build or garden, spawn caterpillars in batches so you always have some in the Chrysalis stage while others are already flying. Combine this with Hydrangea Bush and Hydrangea Leaves to give the area a planted look.
