Mud Block is the base building block. From it you can craft:

Use stonecutting on Mud Block to get the slab, stair, wall and post variants without wasting material.

Mud Brick Family

Process Mud Block further into Mud Brick. From Mud Brick you can craft:

• Mud Brick Fence
• Mud Brick Fence Gate

Mud Brick is the more refined look, so use it for feature walls and Mud Block for bulk fill.

Practical Loop

1. Gather Mud Block.

2. Stonecut into slabs, stairs, walls and posts for the Mud Block set.

3. Craft Mud Brick from Mud Block.

4. Craft Mud Brick Fence and Mud Brick Fence Gate.

5. Combine Mud Block and Mud Brick in the same build for contrast.
