How to Craft Music Paper and Write a Music Score

Music Paper and Music Score are the two core consumables for authoring a song. Music Paper is the blank sheet you write notes onto; Music Score is the finished, playable result.

Making the blank

Obtain Paper Scraps first. Combine Paper Scraps through a crafting_shapeless recipe to produce Music Paper. Keep a stack on hand — every song you write consumes at least one sheet, and longer arrangements consume more.

Writing the score

Hold Music Paper and open the writing interface. Enter your notes, then commit the sheet. The committed sheet becomes a Music Score. A Music Score is the item you carry to a Music Block or hand to another player for playback.

Practical loop

1. Craft Paper Scraps into Music Paper.

2. Write notes on the Music Paper.

3. Convert the written sheet into a Music Score.

4. Play the Music Score at a Music Block.

If you only need to test a melody, write a short score first and expand it once the timing is right. Discarding a bad Music Paper costs less than rebuilding a long Music Score. Store finished Music Scores in a named container so you can find a specific song without scrolling through every sheet you own.
