How to Build a Layered Arrangement with Multi Inst

Multi Inst lets one Music Score carry several instrument parts at once. This is how you get a full band out of a single Music Block instead of placing one block per instrument.

Plan the parts

Decide which instruments carry which role. A workable split: Piano or Harpsichord for chords, Bass Acoustic or Bass Fingered for the low end, Drum Set Standard or Timpani for rhythm, and Violin, Flute, or Sax Alto for the melody. Section Strings and Section Brass fill out sustained backing without needing many separate parts.

Combine into one score

Write each part as its own Music Paper, then combine them using Multi Inst into a single Music Score. Each part keeps its assigned instrument. The resulting score plays every part together when triggered.

Test and balance

1. Load the combined score into a Music Block.

2. Trigger it and listen for parts that are too loud or too quiet.

3. Rewrite the offending part on fresh Music Paper.

4. Recombine with Multi Inst and reload.

Keep the part count low at first — four or five instruments is enough to hear whether the arrangement works. Add Section Strings or Section Brass only after the core parts sit correctly, since dense backing hides timing errors in the melody.
