What Paper Cartridge Does

Paper Cartridge is the ammunition for every firearm in the mod: Blunderbuss, Flintlock Pistol, Musket, Musket with Bayonet, and Scoped Musket. Without it, none of them fire. It is produced with the crafting_shapeless recipe, so the arrangement of ingredients does not matter — only that the correct items are present.

Making and Managing Ammo

Open a crafting grid and combine the Paper Cartridge ingredients using the shapeless recipe. The output is Paper Cartridge. Craft in bulk: each shot eats one cartridge, and a single fight can burn through a dozen or more.

Keep a dedicated ammo slot or hotbar space. When you switch between a Flintlock Pistol and a Musket, both draw from the same Paper Cartridge supply, so one stack covers all your firearms.

If you run out mid-exploration, you cannot improvise a shot — there is no alternate loading path. Carry a melee fallback or the Musket with Bayonet so you are never fully disarmed. Restock Paper Cartridge before every trip, the same way you would restock arrows or food.
