How to Get Every Mushroom Cap in Mushroom Quest

The Nine Caps

Mushroom Quest has nine mushroom caps to collect: Aqua Mushroom Cap, Blue Mushroom Cap, Brown Mushroom Cap, Green Mushroom Cap, Inky Mushroom Cap, Pink Mushroom Cap, Purple Mushroom Cap, Red Mushroom Cap, and Sunset Mushroom Cap. Each is a distinct registry item, so you can store them separately and track which ones you still need.

Collecting Them

Gather caps from mushroom blocks in the world the same way you would gather any mushroom. Brown Mushroom Cap and Red Mushroom Cap are the ones you will recognize first from vanilla mushroom terrain. The colored caps — Aqua, Blue, Green, Inky, Pink, Purple, and Sunset — are the ones you should look for in mushroom biomes and shaded areas. Bring a bowl and a crafting table so you can process what you find on the spot.

Why Collect All Nine

The caps feed into the mod's cooking line. Miso Soup is both an item and a placeable block, so once you have caps you can work toward soup. Grilled Portobello and Grilled Chicken of the Woods are the two cooked mushroom dishes, made through smelting, smoking, or campfire cooking. Stockpile caps in a chest near your kitchen so you are not running back to the biome every time you want to cook.
