Building stations compatible with 9-car Class 80X formations

Planning platform length

Class 80X trains spawn in either 5-car or 9-car formations. A 9-car train is significantly longer, so your station platform must accommodate it. Plan your platform length accordingly—it should extend far enough that the entire train fits within the station area without overhang. Test by spawning a 9-car formation and adjusting platform blocks as needed.

Station design considerations

Position your station blocks (MTR4 station markers) to align with the train's door positions for proper passenger boarding. With a 9-car train, you'll have more doors spread across a longer distance, so ensure your platform covers all passenger cars. Leave adequate space around the platform for pathways and aesthetic building.

Multiple platform setup

If you're running both 5-car and 9-car services, consider building separate platforms or making one platform long enough for the 9-car maximum. This prevents scheduling conflicts and allows flexible operations. You can also stagger platforms at different angles to fit more services into a compact station footprint.
