Create a Mixed-Livery Depot or Maintenance Yard
Depot Layout Strategy
A maintenance yard lets you display and organize multiple TGV variants. Dedicate separate sidings to each paint scheme—1981 orange, 1990s silver-blue, and modern Carmillon—so they're easy to identify and deploy.
Setup Process
1. Design parallel sidings using multiple sets of rails running side-by-side.
2. Assemble one complete consist per siding, using matching liveries within each train.
3. Label or mark each siding with signs indicating the era or service line it represents.
4. Add storage areas for spare bogies and individual cars awaiting reassembly.
Operational Benefits
This arrangement lets you quickly swap trains between lines without rebuilding. It also showcases the resource pack's historical variety. Consider adding a small workshop building nearby with furnaces or crafting stations for thematic roleplay. You can also use this space to test different car combinations before deploying them to passenger service.
