Build a Realistic Station Platform for TGV Trains
Platform Planning
Before construction, determine your train length. A typical TGV consist includes 2 power cars plus 6–8 passenger cars. Account for bogie spacing when calculating platform length—each bogie adds to the overall footprint.
Construction Workflow
1. Lay your rails in a straight line, ensuring they're level and properly aligned.
2. Build platform blocks parallel to the rails at a height that aligns with passenger car doors (typically 1 block above rail level).
3. Place bogies and cars on the rails to verify your platform length is sufficient.
4. Add aesthetic details like station roofing, signage, and lighting to frame your TGV.
Operational Considerations
Leave adequate space at platform ends for power car overhangs. Consider adding a second platform on the opposite side for bidirectional service. If using multiple paint schemes, you may want distinct platforms for each livery to organize your transit network logically.
