How to Craft and Use the Axe of a Thousand Metals

Gathering the Materials

The Axe of a Thousand Metals is a shaped crafting recipe. You need a Wrought Helm and a Naga Fang to assemble it. Both drop from their respective mobs: the Ferrous Wroughtnaut yields the Wrought Helm, and the Naga drops the Naga Fang. Bring a strong weapon and armor before hunting either.

Using the Axe

Once crafted, the Axe of a Thousand Metals functions as a heavy melee weapon. It hits harder than a standard axe and is intended for players who have already defeated the Ferrous Wroughtnaut and the Naga. Pair it with the Wrought Helm equipped for a full set bonus feel. If you also carry a Naga Fang Dagger, you have both a fast option and a heavy option in the same hotbar.

Progression Notes

Do not attempt the Ferrous Wroughtnaut early. Its attacks punish unprepared players. Defeat the Naga first to secure the Naga Fang, then take on the Wroughtnaut for the Wrought Helm. Only after both drops are in hand should you craft the Axe of a Thousand Metals. Keep the Gong nearby if you plan to summon additional Wroughtnaut encounters.
