See the Difference Between Vanilla and Custom Leaf Models
Finding Trees to Compare
The best way to appreciate the mod's improvements is to observe tree canopies directly. Large oak and birch trees show the most dramatic transformation from flat vanilla leaves to fluffy 3D models.
Steps:
1. Travel to a forest biome or locate large trees near your base
2. Stand at ground level and look up at the tree canopy
3. Notice the depth and layering of the new 3D leaf blocks—they're no longer flat planes
4. Walk around the tree to see how the foliage appears fuller from different angles
5. Compare with any remaining vanilla leaf blocks in your world
Observing Specific Details
Look closely at the edges of canopies where individual leaf clusters are visible. The custom models add visual complexity without requiring additional blocks. Check underneath large trees for the scattered fallen leaf models on the ground—these are exclusive to the mod and add realism to the forest floor.
The transformation is most noticeable in dense forests where multiple trees create layered canopies overhead.
