How to Craft a Full Wooden Armor Set in MoreVanillaArmor

Wooden armor is the cheapest set you can make and the fastest way to stop taking full damage on your first night. Every piece uses the same shaped recipe pattern as vanilla armor, with planks in place of ingots.

Crafting the Pieces

Place planks in the standard helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots shapes on a crafting table. This yields Wooden Helmet, Wooden Chestplate, Wooden Leggings, and Wooden Boots. Because the recipes are shaped, the arrangement of planks matters — mirror the vanilla armor layouts exactly.

When to Use It

Wooden armor is a stopgap. Equip the full set as soon as you have spare planks, then upgrade piece by piece. The natural next step is Stone armor: mine cobblestone and craft Stone Helmet, Stone Chestplate, Stone Leggings, and Stone Boots using the same shapes. From there, move to Copper or Bone depending on what you find. Keep the wooden set in a chest as a backup for death recovery runs.
