Using the Pulse Gate for Timed Signals

The Pulse Gate converts a held redstone signal into a short pulse. Use it when a machine should trigger once per signal instead of staying active the whole time the input is on.

Crafting and Placing

Craft the Pulse Gate with its shaped recipe. Place it in line with your redstone path, between the source and the device you want to trigger.

Wiring a Pulse

1. Feed the input signal into the Pulse Gate.

2. Take the output from the opposite face.

3. Use Pliers to rotate the Pulse Gate if the input and output faces are not where you need them.

When the input turns on, the Pulse Gate emits a single short output pulse rather than a continuous signal. This is useful for triggering a Latch, advancing a counter, or firing a machine that should act once per button press.

To build a repeating timer, combine the Pulse Gate with a Diode and a Latch: the Latch holds the state, the Diode delays the feedback, and the Pulse Gate re-triggers the cycle. Route the feedback line with Cable and keep the set and reset paths separate using Cable Junction so the timing loop does not short itself out. Adjust the delay by adding more Diodes in the feedback path.
