Turning Eggs into Fried Egg

Fried Egg is the only food item produced by cooking in this mod. You obtain it by placing a raw egg into a furnace or a smoker. The furnace uses the standard smelting recipe, while the smoker uses the faster smoking recipe — both output Fried Egg.

Use the smoker when you want food quickly, since smoking processes items faster than smelting. Use the furnace if your smoker is busy with other food. Either way, fuel is required just like any other cooking operation.

Practical Cooking Setup

Build a small kitchen near your chicken area: one furnace, one smoker, and a chest for raw eggs. Feed eggs in from the chest and pull Fried Egg out into a separate chest so you always have a ready food supply.

Do not cook your tiered eggs. Fire Egg II through Fire Egg VIII, Water Egg II through Water Egg VIII, and the other elemental lines are not food — they are ingredients for higher tiers and for the Boost, Explosive, Lightning, Wither, and Air progressions. Reserve cooking strictly for plain eggs so you do not waste rare drops.
