Compressing Charcoal Into Blocks

The mod adds ten storage blocks: Block of Charcoal, Block of Apple Charcoal, Block of Beet Charcoal, Block of Bread Charcoal, Block of Carrot Charcoal, Block of Chorus Charcoal, Block of Egg Charcoal, Block of Melon Charcoal, Block of Potato Charcoal, and Block of Sugarcane Charcoal. Each one is made by combining nine of the matching charcoal item in a crafting grid. For example, nine Apple Charcoal produces one Block of Apple Charcoal, and nine vanilla Charcoal produces one Block of Charcoal.

Planning Your Block Production

Because every block costs nine charcoal, decide whether you want the block for storage or for decoration before you commit your supply. Blocks of Charcoal are the most economical to make in quantity, since vanilla Charcoal comes from any smelted log. The specialty blocks — Apple, Beet, Bread, Carrot, Chorus, Egg, Melon, Potato, and Sugarcane — each require you to smelt the corresponding food first, so build up a stock of that charcoal before compressing. If you later want the loose charcoal back, the blocks exist as compact storage, so keep at least one block of each type if you are collecting the full set.
