How to Craft an Oak Cauldron

Gather the Materials

You need seven Oak Planks to make an Oak Cauldron. Oak Planks come from crafting any Oak Log in a crafting grid, and you can also find them in village structures or by stripping logs with an axe. Seven planks is less than one full log's worth of output, so a single Oak Log is enough.

Craft the Cauldron

Open a crafting table and arrange the seven Oak Planks in a U shape: fill the bottom row completely with three planks, then place one plank in the left-middle slot and one plank in the right-middle slot. The top row stays empty. This shaped recipe outputs one Oak Cauldron.

Place the Oak Cauldron on the ground like a normal cauldron. It holds water and functions as a standard cauldron for washing leather armor, dyeing, and storing water. Because it is made of wood, it fits builds where a stone or metal cauldron would look out of place.

If you want a matching set, the same seven-plank U shape works with Spruce Planks, Birch Planks, Jungle Planks, Acacia Planks, and Dark Oak Planks, each producing its own wood-type cauldron. Keep a stack of planks on hand so you can craft several at once.
