Troubleshoot Missing or Broken Shadows

Verify Shader is Active

Confirm the shader is actually enabled in Video Settings > Shaders. The shader name should appear as selected, and you should see a noticeable change in lighting when toggled on and off.

Check Lighting Conditions

Shadows only appear when there's a light source casting them. During daytime, the sun creates shadows. At night or underground, shadows will be minimal or invisible. Move to an outdoor area during the day to test.

Reset Shader Options

If shadows appear broken or distorted, try resetting shader settings to defaults. This clears any conflicting custom values. Navigate to Shader Options and select "Reset to Default" if available.

Disable Conflicting Mods

Other lighting or visual mods may conflict with shadow rendering. Try disabling recently added mods one at a time and reloading to identify the culprit. Mods that modify lighting, sky rendering, or block textures are most likely to cause issues.

Update or Reinstall

If problems persist, the shader installation may be corrupted. Reinstall the shader files cleanly.
