Tame Your First Aquatic Companion

Gather Fish and Find Your Target

Collect raw or cooked fish from fishing or mob drops. Head to ocean, beach, or river biomes where aquatic mobs spawn. Look for Tropical Pygmy Mermaids in shallow reefs, Crab Girls on sandy shores, or Abyssal Mermaids in deep ocean trenches.

Initiate Taming

Hold raw or cooked fish in your main hand and approach your chosen companion. They will be attracted to the fish. Continue offering fish until a taming indicator appears—the mob will show signs of acceptance, such as following you or changing behavior.

Manage Your Tamed Companion

Once tamed, your companion becomes your ally. Press Shift and right-click to toggle their behavior: they can either stay in one location or wander freely nearby. Keep them safe from hostile mobs and deep water hazards depending on their species. Tamed companions will follow you across biomes and remain loyal as long as you don't attack them.

Different species have unique behaviors—Tropical Pygmy Mermaids will search for pearls when fed, while Crab Girls can shed shells for healing. Experiment with feeding and interacting to unlock their full potential.
