Crafting Modules and Upgrades from Blanks

The Two Blanks

Two registry items are the foundation of everything you build for a Modular Router: Blank Module and Blank Upgrade. Blank Module is the base for modules, which give the router its actions. Blank Upgrade is the base for upgrades, which modify how those actions run. Craft these blanks first, then convert them into the specific module or upgrade you need.

Turning Blanks into Working Parts

A Blank Module is not functional on its own. It exists so that a module can be produced from it. The same is true of Blank Upgrade: it is the intermediate item you shape into a finished upgrade. Because the mod registers only these blanks plus the finished router and frame, plan your crafting around the blanks and the router itself.

The Router and the Frame

Craft a Modular Router as the block that holds your modules and upgrades. Craft a Template Frame to save and reuse a router configuration. The Template Frame is the tool for copying a working setup onto additional routers instead of re-entering every slot.

Progression Order

1. Craft Blank Module and Blank Upgrade.

2. Craft the Modular Router.

3. Convert blanks into the modules and upgrades your task needs.

4. Place the router, insert the modules, then insert the upgrades.

5. Add a filter item if the module must select specific items.

6. Use a Template Frame to duplicate the finished setup.
