Comparing Tool Visibility Between Default and Resized Models
Understanding the Visual Difference
Modsinth's Small Tools Resource Pack shrinks your held tools to reduce screen clutter. The resized models maintain the same functionality and damage values as vanilla tools—only their on-screen size changes. This is purely visual and affects only first-person view.
How to Spot the Difference
1. Hold any tool or sword in your main hand
2. Look at the bottom-right corner of your screen where the item model appears
3. Notice how the tool takes up less space than it would in vanilla Minecraft
4. The item's texture remains recognizable—colors, patterns, and material details stay intact
5. Switch between different material tiers (wood, stone, iron, diamond, netherite) to see how each scales down proportionally
When the Change Matters Most
The reduced size is most noticeable during:
- Combat: Your view of approaching enemies improves significantly
- Mining: You can see ore veins and cave systems more clearly
- Exploration: Spotting mobs and terrain hazards becomes easier
The pack works on all tool types: swords, pickaxes, axes, and shovels. Third-person view is unaffected, so other players see your tools at normal size.
