How to Set Up a CCTV Security System

Craft the components

The system uses three items: Camera, CCTV Camera, and CCTV Screen. You also need a Battery to power the setup.

Install cameras

1. Place CCTV Cameras at each point you want to watch, such as above a door or along a wall.

2. Mount them high so they cover the approach to your base.

3. For narrow defensive sightlines, place an Arrow Slit in the wall and position a Camera behind it.

Wire the screen

1. Place a CCTV Screen indoors where you want to monitor feeds.

2. Place a Battery nearby to supply power to the system.

3. Confirm the CCTV Cameras and the CCTV Screen are all within the powered area.

Add defensive hardware

Place Barriers to control where players and mobs can walk. Barrier blocks are available in many materials, including Acacia Barrier, Andesite Barrier, Birch Barrier, Blackstone Barrier, Bricks Barrier, Chiseled Nether Bricks Barrier, Chiseled Polished Blackstone Barrier, Chiseled Red Sandstone Barrier, Chiseled Sandstone Barrier, Chiseled Stone Bricks Barrier, Clay Barrier, and Cobblestone Barrier. Use a Barrier material that matches your base walls so the security line does not stand out. For ammunition storage near a defensive position, keep Bullet and Bullet Strip on hand. Check the CCTV Screen after placing each Camera to confirm the feed registers before moving to the next camera.
