Using the Assembler for Automated Crafting

What the Assembler Does

The Assembler is a machine that runs crafting recipes automatically when supplied with items and power. It replaces manual crafting for repetitive recipes such as circuits, gears, and machine parts.

Building the Assembler

Craft the Assembler using a Basic Machine Hull, Aluminum Large Plate, and Analog Circuit. Place it down and connect power. Early on, use a steam or basic power source; later, upgrade to Advanced Machine Hull setups.

Inputs and Outputs

Feed items through Advanced Item Input Hatch or Black Item Pipe into the input side. Output items leave through Advanced Item Output Hatch or Black Item Pipe. For recipes that need fluids, use Advanced Fluid Input Hatch and Advanced Fluid Output Hatch.

Common Recipes

Use the Assembler to produce Analog Circuit, Analog Circuit Board, Arithmetic Logic Unit, and Advanced Motor. These are the building blocks for higher-tier machines. Set the recipe in the Assembler's interface, then let it run while you work on other tasks.

Tips

Keep a buffer chest of ingredients next to the Assembler. Use an Automatic Trash Can to void byproducts you do not need. If the Assembler stalls, check that power and inputs are still flowing.
