Storing Fluids and Items with Barrels and Tanks

Aluminum Barrel

Aluminum Barrel is a storage block for items. Craft it from Aluminum Ingot and Aluminum Large Plate. Place it down and right-click to open its inventory. Barrels are useful next to machines so output items have somewhere to go without you running back and forth.

Aluminum Tank

Aluminum Tank stores fluids. Craft it from Aluminum Ingot and Aluminum Large Plate. Use it to buffer steam, water, or other fluids between machines. Connect it with Black Fluid Pipe to move fluids in and out.

Pipes

Black Fluid Pipe moves fluids between tanks, boilers, and machine hatches. Black Item Pipe moves items between barrels, chests, and machine hatches. Place pipes adjacent to the block you want to pull from or push to; they connect automatically.

Hatches

Advanced Fluid Input Hatch and Advanced Fluid Output Hatch are the machine-side connections for fluids. Advanced Item Input Hatch and Advanced Item Output Hatch do the same for items. Use these on multiblock machines that do not have direct pipe connections.

Trash and Cleanup

Automatic Trash Can voids items you no longer need. Place it at the end of a pipe line to delete excess stone, dirt, or byproducts so your barrels do not overflow.
