How to Build a Nuclear Reactor in Modern Industrialization

Fuel and Components

Nuclear power starts with fuel. You need Block of LE Uranium, Block of HE Uranium, Block of LE Mox, and Block of HE Mox. LE variants are low-enriched and safer; HE variants produce more heat and power but demand stronger cooling. Surround fuel blocks with Blastproof Casing and Blastproof Alloy Large Plate to contain the reaction. Advanced Machine Casing and Advanced Machine Hull form the reactor shell and connect it to your power network.

Reactor Setup

Place your fuel blocks in a compact core, then wall them with Blastproof Casing. Attach Advanced Fluid Input Hatch and Advanced Fluid Output Hatch to circulate coolant, and Advanced Item Input Hatch / Advanced Item Output Hatch for fuel and waste handling. Use Advanced Motor and Advanced Pump to drive coolant flow. Monitor heat with the reactor UI; if temperature climbs, swap HE fuel for LE fuel or add more coolant hatches.

Safety and Output

Never seal a reactor without fluid hatches — heat must leave the core. Keep Blastproof Casing between the core and any machine you care about. Plutonium and Block of Plutonium are byproducts you can store for later use. Route reactor output through Advanced Machine Hull into your grid, and keep an Automatic Trash Can nearby for unwanted byproducts. Start with LE fuel, confirm stable temperatures, then upgrade to HE Mox once cooling keeps up.
