How to Automate Ore Processing with the Forge Hammer and Assembler
Early Processing
Your first ore doubling comes from the forge_hammer recipe type. Crush Antimony Ore, Bauxite Ore, or any raw ore block into Dust and Tiny Dust by hand or with a Forge Hammer. Bauxite Dust and Bauxite Tiny Dust feed into Aluminum production; Antimony Dust and Antimony Tiny Dust feed into Battery Alloy and Soldering Alloy chains. Smelt Dust in a furnace for Ingots, or use blasting for faster output on metals like Aluminum, Steel, and Stainless Steel.
Scaling with the Assembler
Once you have Basic Machine Hull and Advanced Machine Hull, build an Assembler. Feed it Dusts, Ingots, and Plates through Advanced Item Input Hatch and pull results from Advanced Item Output Hatch. The Assembler handles crafting_shaped and crafting_shapeless recipes automatically, so you can produce Aluminum Gear, Aluminum Rotor, Aluminum Ring, and Analog Circuit Board without manual grids.
Materials to Queue
Keep a steady supply of Aluminum Ingot, Steel Ingot, Bronze, Invar, and Cupronickel flowing in. Use Aluminum Cable and Annealed Copper Cable to wire machines together. Blastproof Casing and Advanced Machine Casing are required for higher-tier machines, so automate their inputs early. Route overflow into an Automatic Trash Can to prevent clogged output hatches.
