Breeding and Feeding Chickens with GM Chicken Feed

Feed Types

Use GM Chicken Feed on chickens to trigger the chicken_feed recipe behavior. GM Chicken Feed Cursed is a variant that produces different results. Nutritious Chicken Feed is another feed variant for chickens.

Feeding chickens with these items can produce Golden Egg or Rotten Egg depending on which feed you use. Collect the eggs after feeding.

Using the Eggs

Golden Egg and Rotten Egg are the outputs you get from the feed recipes. Store them or use them in further crafting. Delightful Dirt and Dreadful Dirt are dirt blocks associated with these egg types — place them where you want the corresponding effect.

Setup

Keep chickens in a pen and apply the feed directly. If you want a steady supply, build a small enclosure and feed one chicken at a time so you can track which feed produces which egg. Separate pens for GM Chicken Feed and GM Chicken Feed Cursed prevent mixing outputs.

Combine chicken feeding with an Absorption Hopper nearby if eggs or drops land on the ground, so nothing is lost.
