Glowstone Coal is a distinct item in the mod, separate from the Glowstone Block family. Treat it as a material you gather or craft and then hold in your inventory for recipes and for fueling furnaces.

Fueling Furnaces

Drop Glowstone Coal into the fuel slot of a furnace the same way you would use vanilla coal. It burns and smelts your input items. This is useful when you are working away from your coal supply or when you have accumulated Glowstone Coal and want to convert it into smelting time rather than storing it.

Keep a stack in your furnace fuel chest so you always have a backup when your regular coal runs low.

Crafting With Glowstone Coal

Glowstone Coal also appears as an ingredient in shaped crafting recipes. Check the recipe output you are trying to make and confirm whether Glowstone Coal is one of the required items before you start gathering.

A simple workflow:

1. Store Glowstone Coal in its own chest slot so it does not get mixed into your normal coal stack.

2. Pull from it for furnace fuel when needed.

3. Pull from it for crafting when a recipe calls for it.

4. Restock before you begin a large build so you do not stop halfway.
