Where to Look

Villager skeletons spawn throughout the Overworld in the same locations as regular skeletons—dark caves, ravines, and underground caverns. They become rarer the deeper underground you travel, so your best chances are in shallow caves and surface-level darkness.

Spotting the Difference

Villager skeletons have distinct head models that differ from standard skeletons. Look for varied facial features and clothing details on their skulls that reflect different professions. In snowy biomes, you'll encounter icy stray variants with similar profession-based customization.

What to Expect

These variants behave identically to regular skeletons—they shoot arrows and burn in daylight. The main difference is visual: their quivers are visible on their backs, and their heads display unique characteristics. Collect them for a closer look, or observe them from a distance to appreciate the model details. The deeper you venture into caves, the more likely you'll encounter standard skeletons instead, so prioritize shallow underground exploration if you want to see villager variants frequently.
