Making Gem Swords, Axes, and Pickaxes

Each gem family has its own tool and weapon line. The facts list Fire Ruby Sword, Ice Sapphire Sword, Power Pyrite Sword, Spirit Garnet Sword, Lucky Citrine Sword, plus Lucky Citrine Pickaxe, Haste Peridot Pickaxe, Unbreaking Iolite Pickaxe, Power Pyrite Axe, Kinetic Opal Axe, and Haste Peridot Axe. There are also the Ultima tier tools: Ultima Sword, Ultima Axe, and Ultima Pickaxe.

Forge the Gem First

No gem tool exists without its gem. Run raw materials through the Gem Forge to produce the gem item, then use that gem in the shaped crafting recipe for the tool. For example, forge a Fire Ruby, then craft the Fire Ruby Sword. Forge a Haste Peridot, then craft the Haste Peridot Pickaxe or Haste Peridot Axe.

Choosing Your Line

Match the gem to the job. Haste Peridot covers both a pickaxe and an axe, so it is a flexible mining and woodcutting choice. Lucky Citrine gives you a pickaxe and a sword. Power Pyrite gives a sword and an axe. Unbreaking Iolite gives a pickaxe. Kinetic Opal gives an axe. Spirit Garnet, Fire Ruby, and Ice Sapphire each give a sword.

Upgrading to Ultima

Ultima Sword, Ultima Axe, and Ultima Pickaxe are the top of the tool chain. Craft them after you have the gem tools and the required forged gems, then retire your earlier tools to storage.
