How to Craft and Use the Gem Forge

The Gem Forge is the center of every gem-processing chain. Place it like any other block, then interact with it to open its interface. All gem forging happens here through the miningmaster:forging_recipe recipe type, so you never need a separate station for the different gems.

Feeding the Forge

Put your raw gem materials into the input slot and the required secondary item into the appropriate slot. The forge then produces the finished gem item. Because the mod uses a dedicated forging recipe type, the exact inputs are shown in the forge's own recipe list rather than a standard crafting grid.

What to Forge First

Start with the gems that unlock tools and armor. Fire Ruby, Ice Sapphire, Power Pyrite, Spirit Garnet, Lucky Citrine, Kinetic Opal, Haste Peridot, Unbreaking Iolite, Air Malachite, Dive Aquamarine, Divine Beryl, Heart Rhodonite, and Spider Kunzite are all processed through the Gem Forge. Once you have a gem, you can compress nine of them into its matching Block of that gem, or use the gem directly in shaped and shapeless crafting recipes for weapons, tools, and the Paragon armor set.

Practical Order

Forge a cheap gem first to confirm your inputs work, then batch the gems you need for your target gear. Keep one stack of each block form for storage and decoration, and keep loose gems for crafting. The forge is reusable, so you only ever craft one.
