How to Upgrade a Mining Gadget

Using the Modification Table

All upgrades go through the Modification Table. Craft the table, place it down, and open it. Put the Mining Gadget MK1, MK2, or MK3 in the gadget slot. Put a Blank Upgrade Module in an upgrade slot to create space, then place the specific upgrade you want into that slot. The table consumes the module and the upgrade and applies the effect to the gadget.

Choosing Upgrades

Size upgrades change the mining area: Upgrade: 3x3, Upgrade: 5x5, and Upgrade: 7x7. Range upgrades extend how far the gadget reaches: Upgrade: Range, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Efficiency upgrades speed up mining: Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 through Tier 5. Fortune upgrades improve drops: Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Silk touch is handled by Upgrade: Silk touch. Utility options include Upgrade: Freezing, Upgrade: Light Placer, Upgrade: Magnet, and Upgrade: Void Junk. Power comes from the Battery line.

Progression Order

Start with a Battery upgrade so the gadget does not stall, then add a Size upgrade for wider tunnels. Add Efficiency tiers as you gather materials. Range and Fortune come later. Each upgrade occupies a slot, so plan which effects matter most for the task at hand. Swap upgrades in and out at the Modification Table whenever your needs change.
