Why Removal Matters

A Devil Fruit is permanent once eaten, so removing it is the only way to free the slot for a different power. Removal is a deliberate process, not a casual toggle — treat it as a respec.

The Removal Process

Removal centres on the Darkness block and related Darkness-themed items. Set up the removal in a controlled space: place the Darkness block, then interact with it while carrying the fruit power you want stripped. The process consumes the fruit from your character and returns you to an unpowered state.

Before starting, empty your inventory of anything you do not want caught in the interaction, and store valuables in a chest nearby. After removal you can eat a new fruit immediately — have the replacement ready so you are not left powerless in a dangerous area.

If you are removing a fruit to trade or store it, confirm the fruit item is actually returned to you rather than destroyed. Test the process once in a creative or safe world if you are unsure how your setup behaves.
