Troubleshoot Missing or Distorted Sounds
Common Sound Issues
If you're not hearing Half-Life 2 audio or sounds are cutting out, check these factors:
Verification Steps
1. Confirm Mine Life 2 is enabled in Options > Resource Packs—it should appear in the "Active" column
2. Verify your game volume isn't muted in Options > Sounds and that individual volume sliders (Master, Block, Hostile, Neutral, Players, Ambient, Weather) are above zero
3. Check that no other resource pack is positioned above Mine Life 2 in your active pack list
4. Restart your game completely after enabling the pack
File Integrity
If sounds remain distorted or absent:
- Reinstall Mine Life 2 to ensure files weren't corrupted during download
- Delete the pack folder and re-add it fresh
- Check that your
.minecraft/resourcepacks/folder path is correct
Compatibility Notes
Some older Minecraft versions may have compatibility issues with the pack. Ensure your game version matches the pack's supported versions. If problems persist after these steps, try disabling all other packs temporarily to isolate whether Mine Life 2 is the cause.
