Customize Which Sounds Get Replaced
Understanding the Pack Structure
Mine Life 2 replaces sounds by overriding Minecraft's default audio files. If you want to keep some vanilla sounds while using Half-Life 2 audio for others, you'll need to selectively restore files.
Restoring Specific Sounds
1. Locate your resource pack folder in .minecraft/resourcepacks/
2. Navigate to assets/minecraft/sounds/ within the Mine Life 2 pack
3. Identify the sound category you want to change back (footsteps, damage, block breaking, etc.)
4. Delete or rename the Half-Life 2 sound files in that folder
5. Minecraft will fall back to default sounds for those categories
Partial Customization Tips
If you only want Half-Life 2 audio for combat but prefer vanilla footsteps, remove files from the step/ and block/ folders while keeping combat-related sounds intact. You can also duplicate the pack and create multiple versions for different playstyles—one for PvP focus, another for building and exploration.
Restart your game after making changes to hear the results.
