Make Light Sources More Visible in Bright Conditions
The Challenge
During daytime or in well-lit areas, the astigmatism streaks and halos can become washed out by natural sunlight, making artificial light sources harder to spot.
Increasing Visibility
1. Open your shader settings and increase the halo ring brightness—this makes glowing rings more pronounced even in daylight
2. Boost the astigmatism streak intensity so streaks remain visible despite ambient light
3. Test near your base or in bright outdoor areas to see if light sources stand out better
4. Adjust until you can easily distinguish torches and lamps from their surroundings
Strategic Placement
If adjusting shader settings alone doesn't help enough, consider your light source placement. Use brighter light-emitting blocks (like lanterns or glowstone) in areas where visibility matters most. Cluster multiple light sources together to create stronger visual emphasis. The halo effect stacks when multiple light sources are close, making them collectively more noticeable. This approach combines shader settings with smart building design for maximum visibility.
