How to Upgrade a Wood Barrel to Copper

Craft the Wood To Copper upgrade

Place a Wood To Copper item in a crafting grid together with the barrel you want to convert. The upgrade items in this mod are the conversion tokens: Wood To Copper, Wood To Iron, Wood To Silver, Wood To Gold, Wood To Diamond, and Wood To Obsidian all take a wooden barrel up to the named tier in one step. Copper To Iron, Copper To Silver, Iron To Gold, Iron To Silver, Silver To Gold, Silver To Diamond, Gold To Diamond, and Diamond To Crystal, Diamond To Obsidian move an existing metal barrel up the chain.

Plan your upgrade path

If you already have a Copper Barrel, do not waste a Wood To Copper token. Use Copper To Iron to reach Iron Barrel, then Iron To Gold or Iron To Silver depending on which material you have more of. Silver Barrel and Gold Barrel both feed into Diamond Barrel through Silver To Diamond or Gold To Diamond. From Diamond Barrel you can branch to Crystal Barrel with Diamond To Crystal or to Obsidian Barrel with Diamond To Obsidian. Netherite Barrel is the top tier and is reached through the smithing_transform recipe rather than a simple upgrade token, so keep a Diamond or Obsidian Barrel ready as the base.

Keep the barrel's contents in mind

Upgrading swaps the block, so empty the barrel first if you want to be safe. Once upgraded, the new barrel keeps the larger storage capacity of its tier, which is the whole point of climbing the chain.
