Crafting a Barrel from Scratch with Wood To Copper

The Wood To Copper item is your entry point into the barrel chain. Combine it with a wooden barrel in a crafting grid to produce a Copper Barrel. From there every further step uses a dedicated upgrade token rather than raw materials, so you never need to rebuild the barrel from scratch.

Follow the tier order

The supported progression is Wood, Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Crystal, Obsidian, with Netherite at the top. Use these tokens to move along it:

• Wood To Copper, Wood To Iron, Wood To Silver, Wood To Gold, Wood To Diamond, Wood To Obsidian
• Copper To Iron, Copper To Silver
• Iron To Gold, Iron To Silver
• Silver To Gold, Silver To Diamond
• Gold To Diamond
• Diamond To Crystal, Diamond To Obsidian

Each token is consumed when applied. Because several tokens skip tiers, you can jump straight from Wood to Diamond if you have the token, saving the intermediate steps.

Choose your target tier

Decide early whether you want Crystal Barrel or Obsidian Barrel, since both branch off Diamond Barrel. Crystal and Obsidian are parallel end options below Netherite. If you plan to push to Netherite Barrel, keep the Diamond or Obsidian barrel you produce, because the final step is a smithing_transform rather than a crafting-grid upgrade.
